The purpose of this page is to honestly document my professional skillset. This gives me a decent overview of my strengths and weaknesses, giving me some direction for growth, while also giving the people I work with a clear picture of what I can and cannot do.

The list is extensive and goes beyond my core skillset, but not everything is included to keep it readable. The entire page is organized using a simple grading and schema structure shown below.

Everything is graded by myself, but also reality checked by a few people I respect and trust professionally. Some tools may appear across multiple categories and may have different ratings depending on the context they're used in. Skill proficiency and tool familiarity use separate rating scales, since proficiency in a skill and familiarity with a tool are fundamentally different.

Skill Scale

1 — Entry

Researched and understood in theory, but real-world application is still minimal.

2 — Foundational

Solid grasp of the fundamentals, can handle straightforward tasks independently, but still building depth and experience.

3 — Proficient

Comfortable applying this skill in real world situations, experienced enough to be reliably effective.

4 — Advanced

Deep, reliable experience with the ability to handle complexity and ambiguity, can evaluate others' work and take full ownership of this area.

5 — Expert

Operating at a top 1% level — extensive real-world experience, strong tested opinions, and a depth that separates this from advanced practice.

6 — Mastery

Operating at a top 0.1% level — where the skill stops being something you practice and becomes something you advance. Innovating, influencing others, and solving problems at the very edge of what's possible. (I haven't reached this level in any professional skillset yet — it's here purely for setting the benchmark)

Tool Scale

1 — Aware

Have done some research and am aware of the tool theoretically, haven't used it practically.

2 — Foundations

Have used it in a real context, know the core features and can navigate it independently, but still discovering everything it can do.

3 — Competent

Comfortable across most features, use it or have used it in the past regularly, know what it's capable of, and rarely need to review documentation.

4 — Fluent

Deep, habitual familiarity built from sustained use, I know the shortcuts, the quirks, and how to squeeze the most out of it.
